In February 2012 the German BPjM removed Max Payne (1) from its Index, so I hoped I could pick up a digital uncut copy of the game from the German Steam store during the next sale. However, I have been unsuccesful in doing so, because the game has not been restored to the German Steam store thus far by Valve. The only alternative since 2012 has been some overpriced retail sellers of the game on Ebay. Many German gamers would love to procure this classic gem digitally without having to resort to piracy, as disc versions could no longer be functioning in the future. As both Rockstar and Valve would profit from restoring the game to the German Steam store, I cannot fathom why Valve has not already done so and must assume it has not been brought to their attention properly. I already tried bringing the subject to Valve's attention via e-mail (not the built-in Steam support system) in the past, but received no reply. I want to use this opportunity to change this. German participants are as welcome as international gamers who want to show their solidarity. Please feel free to share this petition.

Im Februar 2012 hat die Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien (BPjM) Max Payne (1) von ihrem Index gestrichen. Ich hatte daraufhin gehofft, das Spiel danach im deutschen Steamshop uncut kaufen zu können. Diese Hoffnung sollte sich jedoch als vergeblich erweisen, da Valve bis zum heutigen Tag das Spiel nicht für die deutsche Steamshopsektion freigeschaltet hat. Die einzige Alternative, die ich 2012 finden konnte, waren überteuerte Retail Versionen des Spiels auf Ebay. Viele deutsche Spieler würden diesen Klassiker gerne wieder legal spielen können, eine digital erhältliche Variante wäre in heutigen Zeiten dem Risiko einer Discversion da natürlich vorzuziehen. Da sowohl Rockstar als auch Valve von einer Freischaltung des Spiels profitieren würden, kann ich mir nicht erklären warum dies nicht längst geschehen ist und nur mutmaßen, dass niemand sie darauf hingewiesen hat. Ich habe bereits in der Vergangenheit per E-Mail versucht Valve auf diesen Umstand aufmerksam zu machen, habe allerdings keine Reaktion erhalten. Dies möchte ich mit Hilfe dieser Petition ändern. Bitte unterschreibt und teilt sie mit anderen Gamern, deutschen wie internationalen, die ihre Solidarität ausdrücken wollen.
