Have the council refurbish the Richard Taylor skate park

Have the council refurbish the Richard Taylor skate park

The Issue

The Richard Taylor Skate Park has become dilapidated and dangerous. It was built to commemorate the life of Richard Taylor who was a Welsh inline skating and freestyle skiing champion from Barry who passed away in 2004. His parents Gaynor and the now late John Taylor set up the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund to raise funds to have the Skatepark at the Knap, Barry upgraded and dedicated to his memory. The community came together and the money was raised. It is still loved and used by many skating enthusiasts. After many years of use it is falling into disrepair and the equipment desperately needs refurbishment or replacement as it is now clearly becoming hazardous. To leave the park to decay dishonours Richard and the work his family and the community put in to the original campaign to have it upgraded. If you agree that the council should help make the park safe by way of replacement or refurbishment of the equipment too please sign and share this petition.
