Use Government Funding to Build a New Pool in Brand Park, Not a Splash Pad

The Issue

Our town, rich in history and community spirit, deserved more than what we've been given. Our once thriving community pool, a hub of cherished memories and town camaraderie, has been torn down. It was more than just a place to swim; it was a beacon of togetherness and an integral part of our historical identity. We were devastated when our beloved pool was demolished, yet we were hopeful when the government promised funding for a new recreational facility. Our hope, though, was dashed when plans were laid out not for a new pool but a splash pad.

This petition opposes the planned construction of a splash pad at Brand Park and instead pushes for the establishment of a new community pool. There's already a splash pad right next to where the old pool was, do we really need two next to each other? The community is home to several splash pads that are starting to feel wasted and redundant.

A pool, on the other hand, could be more than just a recreational facility; it could serve as a symbol of hope, a source of community attraction, and a testament to our town's resilience. It's not just about recreation, it's about our heritage, our unity, and our determination to reconstruct what was lost. It's about providing a space that could attract visitors and foster a stronger community vibe.

Let's re-channel the government's funding into constructing a communal pool worthy of our town's history and our people's spirit. Sign this petition and help us reclaim our rightful pool, restore our town's pride, and resist wasteful redundant additions. Let unity and historical identity lead our way, not needless duplication. Together, we can make this happen. Sign today.
