A Year Later and Dr. Sanon is still in Haiti's Prison - Help Us
Wrongfully detained individuals in Russia are beginning to receive media attention due to Brittney Griner (WNBA all-star) but Dr. Sanon in Haiti still remains pickled in one of the world's worse prisons battling for his life.
A year has passed since Dr. Sanon has seen his family. watched the sunrise, been in a car, used running water, and slept in an actual bed. In a prison where daylight doesn't reach your cell, an American is being held for more than a year wrongfully detained.
From July 7th to the present, the following events have taken place with no results or movement on his situation:
- Imprisoned for over 365 days
- No scheduled court date
- No charges
- Several judges fleed the case
- Courthouse broken into and documents stolen
- Gunfires outside and inside the prison
- Dr. Sanon: 2 cardiac arrests
- Dr. Sanon: loss over 100 lbs
- No support besides monthly visits from US Embassy if it is safe to roam the barbaric streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti
- The family contacted US congress, State Department, and FBI with no solution or movement
- Dr. Sanon begins preaching the gospel and teaching inmates who have been detained for over 10 years
- Request for medical records but never received
With all and more that has happened in a year, we are asking you to write to your congressman or congresswoman, senator, or governor, pleading for his extradition/release to home (United States of America). Please continue to spread the word to friends, families, and media outlets to gain as much attention as possible.
