Bring my parent out of Afghanistan.

The Issue

Dear Senator, Ossoff and Congressman Carter,

This correspondence is regarding the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan. My name is Fahima Rastagar. I am a resident of GA, United States and a nursing student. I used to work as an interpreter for the United States military when I lived in Afghanistan. I served as a translator at the Bagram Air Base and RS HQ. I have supported the United States military efforts since I was a young girl, at 14 years old.

Your offices have received prior correspondence regarding this matter, but specifically, with a request to help get my parents, Marzia Rastagar and Riza Khan Rastagar, evacuated out of Afghanistan. Lt Col Christy Barry, USAF JAG Corps, Reserves, and Ms. Lee Norvell, both residents of Saint Simons, submitted evacuation requests on my behalf. Please note that my mother qualifies as a P2 visa candidate.

She worked as a vendor at bazaars held by Afghan women in various military camps such as Bagram Air Base, Camp HKIA, Eggers, ISAF, and more. She has also worked with an NGO with whom we are not in touch with. She worked with this NGO from 2009-2010. The project was named Afghan Women of Hope.

The Taliban have seized U.S. military equipment that could identify Afghans who have worked with the U.S. by eye scan and fingerprints and are going house to house looking for people who have worked with the Americans. My mother has attended bazaars at the military camps and been eye scanned. She was involved with the American people to support their mission in other ways, practices the Shiite sect of Islam, is a member of a minority group, and has a daughter who has worked as a translator. She and my family are greatly in danger. I ask you to please investigate this case again, evacuate my family before August 31st, and reunite them with me.

Please note that we are running out of time!
