US Federal Government: Repeal the 16th amendment to the US Constitution

The Issue

Originally the federal government could only directly tax the population through appropriation, in order to maintain equality among the states in regards to taxation. The 16th amendment eliminates the appropriation requirement for income taxes. Taxes should primarily be simple and indirect. Complicated direct taxes are harmful to the economy because they are more expensive to collect and are a greater burden on the tax payer.
