Every day we are reading reports of countries making deals with the major vaccine producers to pre-purchase millions of doses of vaccines. Just today, news reports stated that Canada signed a 72 million dose deal with Sanofi/GSK. The US, UK, and the EU have set up similar deals. 

The good news is that there are great advances in the production of alternative sources such as this new program that is using a fermentation platform technology, with the goal to create semi-synthetic squalene-based adjuvants at scale.
