Hamas's atrocity carried out on 10/07/2023 was reprehensible. Hamas's atrocities do not justify Israel's genocide against Palestinian civilians-- ALL of whom are innocent.

We also need to be clear that this conflict did not begin on 10/07/2023. Israel was created in 1948. Its creation was a violent, racist undemocratic process that resulted in Palestinians being massacred, ethnically cleansed, and displaced from their land. These injustices continue to this day.

With the west's backing, Israel's campaign of slaughtering Palestinians, stealing Palestinian territory, violating international laws with impunity, and displacing Palestinians led to the rise of the group known as Hamas in 1987. Hamas, however, does not represent Palestinians, and brutal occupation does not justify their attacks against civilians.

Western governments have enabled atrocities against Palestinians, conditioned victims to live in brutal apartheid circumstances where their loved ones are killed, arbitrarily arrested, tortured, sexually abused, and dehumanized on a daily basis by IDF. In the same breadth, they (arrogantly) expect no resistance to come from these crimes of aggression.

ALL civilians are innocent.

Genocide is not self-defense.

War crimes are not self defense.

Stealing land is not self defense.

Massacring children is not self defense.

Cutting off food, electricity, and water is not self defense.

Making orphans of children is not self defense.
