The plight of our 104 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light who endured four months of unlawful detention in Turkey after attempting to legally seek asylum in Bulgaria due to their well-founded fear of persecution, has shed a stark light on the extent, severity and profound impact of the lack of religious  freedom and persecution our members are facing in Turkey and beyond.

We have recently received the deeply distressing news of the passing of one of our beloved members of the faith, Hüseyin Pişirici, in Turkey. Hüseyin has been battling a severe mental illness and suffered from depression. Due to the living conditions in Turkey, the lack of freedoms, and the consistent oppression against members of the faith contributing to his condition, and other personal problems, he regrettably decided to take his own life.

Notably, Hüseyin had been actively seeking asylum alongside the remaining 104 believers in Turkey. In his memory, we implore the UNHCR to facilitate the resettlement of the oppressed diaspora of believers in the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light to a place of safety where they can practice their faith freely.

We extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences to Hüseyin’s family, asking God to grant them strength and tranquility to endure this grievous loss.

لقد سلطت محنة أعضاء دين السلام والنور الأحمدي الـ ١٠٤الذين عانوا من أربعة أشهر من الاحتجاز غير القانوني في تركيا بعد محاولتهم طلب اللجوء بشكل قانوني في بلغاريا بسبب ما يتعرضون له من اضطهاد، الضوء بشكل صارخ على شدة وتأثير انعدام الحرية الدينية والاضطهاد الذي يواجهه أعضاؤنا في تركيا وخارجها

لقد تلقينا مؤخرًا نبأً مؤلمًا للغاية بشأن وفاة أحد أعضاء الديانة الأعزاء، حسين بيشيريسي، في تركيا، كان حسين يعاني من مرض عقلي شديد ومن الاكتئاب، ونظراً للظروف المعيشية في تركيا، وانعدام الحريات، والقمع المستمر ضد أتباع الديانة الذي ساهم في تدهور حالته، وغيرها من المشاكل الشخصية، قرر حسين للأسف الانتحار

ومن الجدير بالذكر أن حسين كان يسعى للحصول على طلب اللجوء إلى جانب باقي الـ ١٠٤ من أعضاء الديانة في تركيا، وفي ذكراه، نناشد المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين تسهيل إعادة توطين أعضاء دين السلام والنور الأحمدي المشتتين في مكان آمن حيث يمكنهم ممارسة ديانتهم بحرية
