Following a long and challenging legal battle and after Turkish courts have handed down a historical ruling, declaring the innocence of 104 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light who have been unjustly detained for four months in Turkey, we are pleased to announce the release of a number of our members from detention today.

In the past few months the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light worked extensively with a group of lawyers and human rights experts in Turkey and internationally, and succeeded in annulling all deportation orders issued by Turkey against its members. We were able to win international support for the case at the highest levels, with the United Nations, the EU parliament and numerous international human rights organisations advocating for the rights of our members and that they be allowed to freely and safely practice their faith. And after making international headlines over the past few months, and exposing grave human rights violations committed within Turkey’s detention centres, the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light was able successfully exert pressure on the detention centre, resulting in the release of its members. The Turkish authorities who had refused several requests to release the group, were compelled to release today a group of its members comprising of four Iranian believers, two Iraqi believers, as well as some Algerian, Azeri, and Thai members. 

We thank God Almighty first and foremost for this great victory. We also take this opportunity to thank all our partners and allies from the human rights movement and the team of lawyers who tirelessly defended our people, specifically Human Rights Without Frontiers, CAP Freedom of Conscience, Rule 39, The Border Violence Monitoring Network, Amnesty International, The Association of Refugees and Migrants, Mission Wings, Center for Legal Rights-Voices in Bulgaria, Freedom House, the EU FoRB Roundtable, and many more.

While we eagerly anticipate the release of the rest of our members, we continue calling for the release of all other asylum seekers who remain unjustly detained in Turkey’s detention centres for many years. We call for their freedom and for the freedom of belief and faith worldwide.

OSCE discusses persecution of Ahmadi Religion members

بعد معركة قانونية طويلة وشاقة، وبعد أن أصدرت المحاكم التركية حكمًا تاريخيًا بإعلان براءة ١٠٤ من أعضاء دين السلام والنور الأحمدي الذين تم احتجازهم ظلماً لمدة أربعة أشهر في تركيا، يسعدنا أن نعلن عن إطلاق سراح عدد من أعضائنا من الحجز اليوم

وفي الأشهر القليلة الماضية، عمل دين السلام والنور الأحمدي بشكل مكثف مع مجموعة من المحامين وخبراء حقوق الإنسان في تركيا وعلى المستوى الدولي، ونجح في إلغاء جميع أوامر الترحيل التي أصدرتها تركيا بحق أعضائه، وتمكنا من كسب الدعم الدولي للقضية على أعلى المستويات، حيث دافعت الأمم المتحدة وبرلمان الاتحاد الأوروبي والعديد من المنظمات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان عن حقوق أعضائنا والسماح لهم بممارسة دينهم بحرية وأمان، وبعد أن تصدر دين السلام والنور الأحمدي عناوين الأخبار الدولية خلال الأشهر القليلة الماضية، وفضح الانتهاكات الجسيمة لحقوق الإنسان المرتكبة داخل مراكز الاحتجاز في تركيا، تمكن بنجاح من ممارسة الضغط على مركز الاحتجاز، مما أدى إلى إطلاق سراح أعضائه، واضطرت السلطات التركية، التي كانت قد رفضت عدة طلبات بالإفراج عن المجموعة، إلى إطلاق سراح مجموعة من الأعضاء اليوم مؤلفة من أربعة مؤمنين إيرانيين ومؤمنين عراقيين اثنين، بالإضافة إلى بعض الأعضاء الجزائريين والأذريين والتايلنديين

نحمد الله تعالى أولا وأخيراً على هذا النصر العظيم، كما ننتهز هذه الفرصة لنشكر جميع شركائنا وحلفائنا من حركة حقوق الإنسان وفريق المحامين الذين دافعوا بلا كلل عن شعبنا، وتحديداً حقوق الإنسان بلا حدود، ومنظمة "كاب" لحرية الضمير، ومبادرة القاعدة ٣٩، وشبكة مراقبة العنف على الحدود، ومنظمة العفو الدولية، ورابطة اللاجئين والمهاجرين، وميشين وينجز، ومركز المساعدة القانونية في بلغاريا، وفريدوم هاوس، والمائدة المستديرة الأوروبية لحرية الدين والمعتقد، وغيرها الكثير

وبينما نتوقع بفارغ الصبر إطلاق سراح بقية أعضائنا، فإننا نواصل الدعوة إلى إطلاق سراح جميع طالبي اللجوء الآخرين الذين ما زالوا محتجزين ظلماً في مراكز الاحتجاز التركية لسنوات عديدة، ونطالب بحريتهم وحرية الدين والمعتقد في العالم أجمع
