We have received a terrifying and severely alarming report of a serious attempt to kill one of our 101 detained members in Turkey, who is elderly. 

Turkish Guard attempts to murder believer

In a testimony by one of our detained Algerian members, Redouane Fufa, Redouane describes that there has been a serious attempt to end the life of one of our detained Thai members, Phatmalik, by one of the gendarmerie officers, while Phatmalik was at the hospital. Redouane relays that when Phatmalik was in the examination room receiving treatment, one of two gendarmerie officers who had accompanied Phatmalik, entered upon him, closed the curtains around his bed and forcefully manipulated the salt water and glucose solution bottles attached to his hand. 

According to another Thai member who had accompanied Phatmalik and was an eyewitness to the incident, the reason behind this inhumane action by the gendarmerie officers was their unwillingness to wait any longer and their eagerness to return home, as it was evening time and approaching night. Consequently, one of the officers proceeded to hasten the flow of the intravenous solution into Phatmalik's body by exerting pressure on it. Despite Phatmalik's protests, the gendarmerie officer continued this harmful action and a loud commotion took place. Fearing the loud noise, the gendarmerie officer then removed the cannula from Phatmalik's hand and ordered him to get up to take him back to the camp. Upon leaving, approximately two-thirds of the treatment remained unused in the package, and the treatment was halted at a very early stage. It is important to note that Phatmalik is one of the vulnerable elderly members of the detained group.

The incident is seen as a direct attempt to take Phatmalik's life and reveals an existing serious threat to our members’ lives at the Edirne camp. We strongly condemn this brutal and inhumane action and we call for urgent and immediate action to be taken to protect the lives of our detained members who are now at risk of losing it.

في شهادة أحد أعضائنا الجزائريين المعتقلين، رضوان فوفا، وصف رضوان أنه كانت هناك محاولة خطيرة لإنهاء حياة أحد أعضائنا التايلانديين المعتقلين، وهو باتمالك، من قبل أحد ضباط الجندرمة، أثناء تواجد باتمالك في المستشفى، ويروي رضوان أنه عندما كان باتمالك في غرفة الفحص يتلقى العلاج، دخل عليه واحد من اثنين من ضباط الجندرمة اللذين رافقا باتمالك، وأغلق الستار حول سريره وضغط على محلول المياه المالحة ومحلول الجلوكوز المتصل بيده

وبحسب عضو تايلاندي آخر رافق باتمالك وكان شاهد عيان على الحادثة، فإن السبب وراء هذا الفعل اللاإنساني من قبل ضباط الجندرمة هو عدم رغبتهم في الانتظار أكثر من ذلك ورغبتهم في العودة إلى منازلهم، حيث كان ذلك  في المساء، ونتيجة لذلك، شرع أحد الضباط في تسريع تدفق المحلول الوريدي في جسد باتمالك من خلال الضغط عليه بقوة، إحتج باتمالك وحدثت ضجة عالية، وخوفًا من الضجيج، قام ضابط الجندرمة بإزالة القنية من يد باتمالك وأمره بالنهوض لإعادته إلى المعسكر، وعند المغادرة، كان ما يقرب من ثلثي العلاج غير مستخدم في العبوة، وتم إيقاف العلاج في مرحلة مبكرة جدًا، ومن الجدير بالذكر أن ياتمالك هو أحد الأعضاء المسنين الضعفاء في المجموعة المحتجزة

يعتبر هذا الحادث محاولة مباشرة لإنهاء حياة باتمالك ويكشف عن خطر قائم كبير على حياة أعضائنا في مخيم أدرنة، إننا ندين بشدة هذا العمل الوحشي وغير الإنساني وندعو إلى اتخاذ إجراءات عاجلة وفورية لحماية حياة أعضائنا المحتجزين الذين يتعرضون الآن لخطر فقدانها
