We are pleased to announce that today, an oral statement regarding the case of the 104 detained members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light has been delivered by CAP/ Freedom of Conscience during a high-level meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna.

In the statement, CAP/ Freedom of Conscience and Human Rights Without Frontiers addressed the violent pushback carried out by the Turkish authorities against our members, as well as the deportation orders issued by Ankara, exposing the detained families to the imminent risk of imprisonment, torture and even execution, particularly in the case of Iran.
The statement also highlighted the severe persecution that members of our faith have endured in several Muslim-majority countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, and Turkey, where they were labeled as heretics.
In light of this, CAP/ Freedom of Conscience and Human Rights Without Frontiers strongly urged Turkey in the statement to immediately revoke all deportation orders and that our detained members be granted asylum in a safer country outside the borders of Turkey.
