Dear supporters, Following publication of the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative manifestos, it looks like our human rights are safe for now. Thank you to all of you who signed my petition calling on party leaders to make protecting the Human Rights Act and our membership of the European Convention on Human Rights a manifesto promise. This is an amazing victory for all of us. Whatever the election result, we will need to keep campaigning to make sure our rights and freedoms are safe for future generations. I don’t want people to face the same trauma that Steven and I did, without the HRA to protect them. Calls to tamper with our human rights laws might be off the table for now, but we will keep a vigilant eye.
