Urgent Traffic Management Needed in Grantham Farm and Surrounding Suburbs

The issue

Every day, residents of Grantham Farm, Tallawong, and Riverstone face a stressful and dangerous journey just trying to leave our neighbourhood. Ongoing roadworks on Hamilton Street and closures on Edmund Street, Railway Terrace in Riverstone, and Clarke Street have made our morning commute hazardous and frustrating. Kids are late for school, and adults struggle to get to work or other important commitments.

Turning onto Garfield Road or McCulloch Street has become a daily gamble. Heavy traffic forces drivers into unsafe decisions, leaving parents, children, and elderly residents at risk every single day. Crown Street has become a loud, fast, and chaotic thoroughfare, no longer a quiet residential street. Residents struggle just to turn safely into their own homes, and speeding vehicles put everyone pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike in danger.

Immediate action is needed: roundabouts, traffic calming measures, and safer intersections to protect our community before someone gets hurt.

Adding to the danger is the lack of communication. Streets close with no warning, leaving families, schoolchildren, and workers trapped in congestion and uncertainty. This isn’t just inconvenient, it’s unsafe.

We, the residents of Grantham Farm, call on Blacktown City Council, Transport for NSW and our local ward leaders to act immediately:

  • Provide clear notice of road closures and changes
  • Implement temporary traffic safety measures at Hamilton street
  • Reopen alternate routes to Garfield Road
  • Install roundabouts and other traffic calming measures on Crown Street
  • Traffic lights on intersection of Junction road and Windsor road
  • Prioritise safe and efficient access for our community

Sign this petition to demand safer roads and better planning for our community. Together, we can make our streets safe, our commutes manageable, and our neighbourhood respected. Your voice matters , every signature counts.
