This three-way intersection in Northeast Fresno, dubbed the "Friant Roulette", has become notorious for being the location of multiple deadly crashes over the past years. In fact, just this past month a woman was killed in a deadly crash on this intersection.

The danger of this intersection is mainly from drivers running red lights and reckless driving. This issue stems from a variety of factors including:

• Drivers ignoring speed limits
• wide intersection
• Sound barrier creating blind spots
• and more!

Despite the danger of the this intersection, little has been done by the city to address this issue. Currently, the city has no plans to redesign this intersection.

We, the undersigned, are calling on Fresno city officials and the Department of Transportation to prioritize the safety of this intersection by:

1. Conducting a formal safety assessment of the intersection
2. Implementing improved signage
3. Installing red light cameras
4. Considering structural redesigns to reduce confusion and blind spots

No more lives should be lost to inaction. With community support and leadership accountability, we can make the “Friant Roulette” a safer place for all users of the road.
