As advocates for diversity and inclusion, we are deeply concerned about the potential consequences of the cartoon reboot of "Good Times" on Netflix. The recently aired trailer has revealed content that glorifies negative stereotypes of people of color, particularly with the depiction of a drug dealing baby. This portrayal not only reinforces damaging stereotypes but also trivializes the severity of drug-related issues. 

The media plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions and attitudes. Studies have shown that negative portrayals of people of color can lead to real-world consequences, including systemic discrimination and bias. By allowing such content to be aired, Netflix inadvertently promotes a negative image of people of color and undermines the progress we are striving to make towards a more diverse and inclusive society. 

Netflix has always been regarded as a platform that champions diversity, with shows like "Orange Is The New Black" and "Dear White People," among many others. It is disheartening that they would choose to air content that goes against these values. We urge Netflix not only as subscribers but also as advocates for equality, fairness, and respect for all races to cancel this offensive reboot immediately. We should be promoting content that uplifts all races rather than demeaning them.
