Urgent Petition to Address Construction Related Pollution Near Hulimavu Lake
The Issue
Dear Community Members,
We, the undersigned residents of Hiranandani near Hulimavu Lake, urgently seek your attention and support regarding the ongoing construction project initiated by the Lodha Group and others in close proximity to Hulimavu Lake. The construction activities have given rise to severe issues affecting our community, including consistent and unbearable noise pollution, environmental concerns, and potential structural risks.
We Petition For:
1. Immediate Investigation: We urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the construction activities near Hulimavu Lake, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and the well-being of the community.
2. Noise Pollution Control Measures: Implementation of effective noise control measures, including the installation of noise barriers, to mitigate the adverse impact on residents' daily lives.
3. Environmental Protection: Strict enforcement of measures to protect the delicate ecosystem around Hulimavu Lake, preventing any further harm to flora, fauna, and the biodiversity it supports.
4. Dust and Air Pollution Control: Ensuring the construction site adopts appropriate measures to control dust and air pollution, safeguarding the air quality in the residential area.
5. Cessation of Road Use: Immediate action to halt the usage of the road constructed above our basement parking by the construction site for the movement of heavy vehicles. This will mitigate the potential structural risks and safeguard the integrity of our residential infrastructure.
Moreover, brick factories in close proximity to Hulimavu Lake are not only operating dangerously close to the lake but also expanding their operations rapidly towards the lake.
We also petition for investigation of these brick factories for:
1. Pollution Concerns: Noise, air, and dust pollution emanating from these factories.
2. Ecosystem Damage: Potential harm to the delicate ecosystem surrounding the lake because of these factories.
3. Improper Waste Management: Engaging in actions like transporting truckloads of waste from other locations, dumping them on-site, and subsequently burning the waste openly in the air.
4. Disregard for Regulations: Operations occurring at all hours, including late nights and early mornings, without adherence to time regulations set by government authorities.
Comprehensive Investigation:
We urgently request the authorities to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into these matters for the well-being of our community and the environment.
To:
Police Commissioner of Bangalore
BBMP Commissioner
Chairman, NGT Bangalore
Chairman, RERA Karnataka
Your support will help us ensure the well-being of our community and the protection of Hulimavu Lake's natural habitat.
Sincerely,
Residents of House of Hiranandani,
