URGENT PETITION: Resolution for FBISE SSC Examinations in Bahrain

URGENT PETITION: Resolution for FBISE SSC Examinations in Bahrain
The Issue
We, the undersigned students and concerned members of the community, raise urgent concern regarding the ongoing uncertainty surrounding FBISE SSC examinations in Bahrain.
The Issue
FBISE students are currently facing indefinite postponements of their SSC-I and SSC-II examinations. This has disrupted their academic progression, particularly their transition into Grades 10 and 11. At present, they remain the only international student cohort in the Kingdom without a clear resolution.
Precedent
Other major examination boards have already taken action to protect their students’ academic timelines:
CBSE (India): 2026 board examinations in Bahrain have been cancelled.
Pearson Edexcel (UK): May/June 2026 series cancelled in Bahrain.
OxfordAQA/Cambridge: Contingency measures have been implemented.
Our Requests
In the interest of fairness, academic continuity, and student well-being, we call for:
Immediate cancellation of the postponed SSC-I and SSC-II examinations.
Finalization of results based on internal or previously completed assessments.
A formal directive allowing students to begin the next academic year without further delay.
Why This Matters
Prolonged uncertainty and continuous “exam-readiness” are causing significant stress and burnout among students. Without a timely resolution, the 2026–2027 academic year risks being shortened, placing FBISE students at a serious disadvantage compared to their peers.
We urge the Ministry of Education to take immediate and equitable action to resolve this issue.
Signed,
FBISE Students and Supporters in Bahrain
