My community has been repeatedly heartbroken due to tragic accidents at the intersection of HWY 59 and 387 in Wright, Wyoming. Such tragedies include today's incident on 06/19/24 which took a life at 10:47 am. It is clear that countless travelers have lost their lives or have been critically injured from this intersection and it must be addressed.

In the United States, approximately 40% of motor vehicle crashes occur at intersections with a significant proportion related to insufficient safety signals, according to the Federal Highway Administration. This statistic reflects the urgency of our situation: we need traffic safety tools to regulate vehicular activity and prevent accidents at this dangerous junction. Traffic safety measures or tools, at this intersection could prevent further loss of life and severe injuries. Such simple measures could create the needed awareness that would literally be lifesaving.
