A huge thank you to all 80,000 + of you who have now signed the petition!!
We handed the petition in to the Home Office this morning and were honoured to be joined by Lord Alf Dubs, Rabbi Janet Darley, Safe Passage, Refugee Rights Europe and Help Refugees - as well as the dozens of others who came out to support. We are so grateful to each and every one of you.
It was a wonderful demonstration of solidarity, hope and compassion - an important reminder when so much in the media is telling us otherwise.
There was also a vigil held this evening to commemorate the 39 people who died in the lorry found in Essex yesterday. We were heartened to see so many people there, each and every one of them determined not to allow those 39 people to have died in vain.
Although we have handed the petition in, this is only a part of the ongoing campaign: it remains live, so please continue to share with your friends, families, colleagues and neighbours!
The petition was also mentioned in the Guardian today - https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2019/oct/24/lord-dubs-britains-hardening-stance-on-asylum-means-children-will-suffer-save-family-reunion
Thank you again for your continued support!
