🚨 URGENT: Keep Halima Abdi and Her Three Canadian Children Together in Canada

Please help us keep Halima Abdi and her three young children together in Canada.

Halima Ali Abdi is a mother of three Canadian-born children, all under the age of 10.

Halima was detained by CBSA in Edmonton and taken to an immigration detention facility in British Columbia while her children were at school. She was separated from them without being given the opportunity to properly say goodbye.

Her children are now heartbroken, confused, and scared. They are asking for their mother and struggling to understand why she has suddenly been taken away from them.

Halima has a detention hearing scheduled for September 8 at 12:00 PM MDT, where her continued detention or release will be considered.

We are asking for compassion and for every available legal and humanitarian option to be considered to keep this family together in Canada.

These children were born in Canada and have their lives here. Their safety, emotional wellbeing, education, healthcare, friendships, family connections, and future matter deeply. They deserve the opportunity to continue growing up in Canada surrounded by the people and community they know and love.

Our family is extremely concerned about the emotional impact this sudden separation is having on these young children. They may need therapy and emotional support to process what they are experiencing.

These are children under 10. They should be thinking about school, friends, family, and growing up — not wondering where their mother is or whether she will come home.

We understand that immigration laws and procedures must be followed. We are not asking anyone to break the law. We are asking for compassion, an urgent review, and serious consideration of the children’s best interests and wellbeing.

Please help us keep Halima and her three children together in Canada.
