Dear Supporters: Every nuclear reactor vents and discharges radiation into the air and waterways. Our food supply is increasingly at risk because the Trump Administration has issued executive orders to deregulate and expand the nuclear industry. The industry has an extremely powerful lobby which repeatedly states that nuclear power will "save us" from climate change. (In fact, nothing can be further from the truth.)  The misinformed U.S. government now wants to quadruple nuclear capacity by 2050. 

Donald Trump and HHS Secretary RFK Jr. vowed to get to the bottom of lesser-known causes of cancer, especially where children are concerned.  Which is why the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission was designated in February of this year. The strategy phase of the MAHA Commission report ends very soon, and the report will be finalized. Cesium 134 and 137 must be included. (Read the FFAN Coalition sign-on letter to HHS and RFK Jr. HERE.)  

And what can you do?  Call FDA 1-888-Safefood to demand that they finally respond to the 2013 FDA Citizen Petition to lower the current allowable levels of cesium 134 and 137 in the U.S. food supply. 

Your representative's phone number can easily be found HERE, so please call and tell them about the petition and the MAHA Commission report which will be finalized soon. You'll find several good talking points to choose from in this press release. Bottom line: HHS must direct FDA to do it's job and act to protect children now.
