This is the time of year we celebrate the women who brought us here, our mothers. Did you know that women and girls are far more vulnerable to the harmful effects of ionizing radiation than are men. But it affects all of us.

Studies have shown that radiation exposure can lead to a higher risk of cancer, heart disease, and stroke in women compared to men. Additionally, girls are particularly vulnerable, with some studies suggesting that exposure during childhood can lead to a significantly greater risk of developing cancer and other health problems later in life.
