Urgent Cost-of-Living Wage Increase for DC 37 Local 372 Members Before 2026

Urgent Cost-of-Living Wage Increase for DC 37 Local 372 Members Before 2026
The Issue
We, the members of DC 37 Local 372, are calling on our union leadership to take action now.
The cost of living in New York City has increased dramatically, while our wages have not kept up. Rent, food, transportation, and basic essentials cost more every month. Our current contract does not expire until November 2026, and waiting two more years for meaningful wage adjustments is not realistic for working families.
We are not asking to renegotiate the entire contract.
We are requesting that Local 372 formally advocate to DC 37 to:
Reopen wage discussions to secure a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) before November 2026.
This emergency COLA increase would help ensure that employees can continue to afford housing, groceries, medical care, and transportation in the city we serve every day.
We are frontline school workers.
We show up.
We feed students.
We support schools.
We keep the system running.
We deserve wages that reflect the real cost of living.
We respectfully request:
✔ A formal public statement from Local 372 leadership supporting a COLA wage adjustment
✔ That DC 37 begin early wage negotiations with the City of New York
✔ Wage relief for members before 2026
We need wage relief now — not two years from now.
