To our wonderful supporters around the world, thank you so much. We have just reach over 1,000 signatures...
In such a short amount of time, you have made a tremendous impact and movement of this campaign towards lessening pet paperwork, restrictions and cost for people fleeing with pets from Ukraine to the UK.
We wanted to share with you an update on Gavin Guest (Gav) and Eli
This letter was written by Gav's nephew on February, 28, 2022 who made a newsletter poster for his Uncle - Titled "The News Today, Russia Vs Ukraine". Gav's nephew goes on to describe Gav's devastation of the unprovoked war in Ukraine. What does the future hold for the children of this and next generation?
It's heart-wrenching to think of all the innocent lives, the children, the people - their pets and families that are still trapped or have made a choice to remain in their "home" of Ukraine that is currently being destroyed by Putin's army right now.
Fortunate for Gav and Eli, they are able to have a positive new beginning. With a stroke of luck, Gav and Eli managed to flee Ukraine and crossed the border into Romania on February, 27, 2022.
After exhausting weeks of trying to bring Eli over, he finally manage to make Eli an EU pet citizen whilst in Romania. Eli has a pet passport that will enable them to move to the next stages of their journey home. But all of this came at a cost, the cost paperwork, the cost of transportation, the cost of leaving your life behind and it doesn't stop there... as they move through Europe to return back to the UK, each country have their own policies, requirements of vaccinations etc and more paperwork. Surely we can do better and lessen the burden on them and others fleeing Ukraine with pets?
