This week on November 25 the 'Bundesrat' – the Upper House of the German parliament – will vote on the amendment of the German Act on the Transfer of Employment Work (German: AÜG). We, as members of the 33 German Red Cross Nurses’ Associations, demand for our humanitarian work an exception rule in the above act – in accordance with the legally provided exceptions for transferred employees of both public employers and recognized churches – so that we can continue to work according to the Geneva Conventions for an indefinite period and unrestricted for health care facilities in Germany and worldwide for you and your loved ones.
