Help Stop The Sale Of Glue Traps

Help Stop The Sale Of Glue Traps
The Issue
Glue traps are typically used for pest control. These traps work when an unsuspecting animal walks over one. Their feet or body get stuck in the glue and the more they fight, the more they get stuck. Eventually the animal dies of thirst. These traps are typically intended for rats, but can trap any animal unfortunate enough to walk over one. They can trap baby opossums, snakes, lizards, birds these animals die in a horrible inhumane way.
Recently in Florida, a small screech owl was trapped in one of these horrible traps when he tried to eat a rodent that was stuck. The more it struggled to free itself, the more of its body became glued to the tray. Before the owl met the same fate as the rodent, someone came across the sticky situation. They scooped up the trap, mouse and owl, rushing to Citrus Park Animal Hospital. Once there, the hospital staff painstakingly worked the owl off the glue trap by carefully soaking the adhered parts with Blue Dawn dishwashing detergent.
These inhumane traps should be banned for use. No animal deserves to die like this. Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe’s are some of the biggest sellers of these traps. I want to urge these companies to stop selling these inhumane traps.
