Aslaamwaalaukum
Good morning everyone.
I pray you are all well.
A few weeks back I went to a football match in Manchester, with a kind friend who brought the tickets for me, this was the first time in my life to watch live football.
I really wanted to meet Pep Guardiola. I'm his biggest fan. The night before I spent effort creating a poster with a short message. With the intention of gaining attention from Pep Guardiola.
I wanted to thank Pep Guardiola from the behalf of all Gazan Palestinians for openly speaking about the genocide in Palestine and the suffering of my people.
I admire Pep Guardiola. Before the genocide I used to play football with my friends. I hold many beautiful moments and memories. Nearly all my friends have been killed. I bear a heavy weight on my soul. I can never forget them. They weren't numbers they were humans with name's, hopes and dreams. I can still remember their smiling faces and their laughter. I've had everything stript and stolen away from me. I will never be able to see them again nor will I ever be able to play football like I used to. 💔
When I saw Pep Guardiola at the football stadium in Manchester. I began to shout as loud as I could to gain his attention. I was unlucky he couldn't hear me. I wasn't close enough.
I wanted desperately to have the opportunity to tell him about my experience and the hurdles, obstacles I'm facing in order to save my family out of Gaza.
I was wishing and praying just may be he will connect with my plea. May be he would help advocate. To save my family out of Gaza.
I don't know if Pep Guardiola will ever see this? But if he does. I pray I get a chance to meet him. I pray he helps me in the most difficult test upon me from Allah swt. God willing.

In early February 2026, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made headlines for his vocal and direct criticism of the humanitarian situation in Gaza , describing it as a "genocide". His recent activities and statements regarding Gaza include:- Barcelona Charity Event: In late January 2026, Guardiola appeared at the Act x Palestine charity concert in Barcelona. Wearing a keffiyeh, he addressed over 12,000 people, opening his speech in Arabic with "Assalamu alaikum".
- Condemnation of "Abandonment": During his speech, he accused world powers of cowardice and claimed the world has "abandoned" the children of Gaza.
- Wider Global Context: In a subsequent press conference on 4 February 2026, he linked the events in Gaza to other global injustices in Ukraine and Sudan, stating that these atrocities are a "problem for us as human beings".
