The Issue

I've been a lifelong Nike and Jordan fan and a serious sneaker collector for the past 2–3 years. Nike's entrance into India brought hope of fair access, consistent launches, and the same respect given to U.S. consumers. Instead, what we are witnessing is deeply disappointing and heartbreaking. India's sneaker culture is burgeoning, and the demand is genuine, yet sneaker launches remain limited and inconsistent, leaving Indian consumers feeling like an afterthought. I refuse to accept this neglect.

Nike India has decided to shut down its direct platforms, including nike.com and SNKRS. This decision is devastating for true Nike and Jordan enthusiasts. Such a move can seriously damage Nike's future in India by pushing consumers toward unofficial resellers, eroding trust with an ever-growing sneaker community.

India deserves better. Our voices and our love for sneakers should not be ignored. Closing these platforms not only denies us the chance to buy our cherished collections directly but diminishes our experience as global consumers.

The sneaker scene in India is built on passion and community spirit, and Nike's decision disregards the burgeoning sneaker culture that has been growing exponentially. The consequence is a loss of trust and a potential backward step in what was a promising market for Nike.

It is crucial for Nike to reassess this decision and acknowledge the vibrant and growing sneaker community in India. Reversing the shutdown of nike.com and SNKRS will ensure fairer access and expand the sneaker culture. Let’s tell Nike to stay true to its fans in India and prove that we matter to them.

Please join me in urging Nike to reconsider their decision to shut down direct operations in India. Sign this petition to keep our sneaker dreams alive and ensure that sneaker culture in India continues to thrive.
