Urge the Vegas Golden Knights to rescind Carter Hart's contract

Urge the Vegas Golden Knights to rescind Carter Hart's contract
The Issue
From day one, the Vegas Golden Knights have prided themselves on integrity, inclusion, and a strong dedication and love for their community. Vegas Born is more than just a team slogan – it’s a way of life the Golden Knights organization so proudly stands by.
Which is why the signing of disgraced former goaltender Carter Hart betrays fans and everything the team claims to stand for, and why I am here urging the Golden Knights to rescind his contract.
The Golden Knights, like every NHL team, has a large number of female fans who adore not only this team but this sport as a whole. Women have always loved hockey and took part in fan culture for it – but women also have always known the problems with the sport. The “boys will be boys” mentality, offensive jokes targeted towards women, a general disrespect towards women, and unfortunately dismissal of violence targeted towards women at the hands of players. Women continue to show up and support our teams and league as a whole, because they not only love this sport but believe it can be better. The Golden Knights can help take the steps to improve the sport and help foster a culture of inclusion and respect for all by listening to fans and not allowing Carter Hart to join the team.
Many fans, myself included, believe that this decision not only tarnishes the reputation of, but also goes against everything the Golden Knights stand for. Players should not only be skilled at what they do, but also demonstrate high stands of character and conduct themselves properly - something the NHL stated Hart and other members of the 2018 Hockey Canada case did not do.
This is a call to the Vegas Golden Knights to reconsider their agreement with Carter Hart, acknowledge the sentiments of their fans, and rescind his professional tryout contract. It's not too late for the Vegas Golden Knights to practice the team values they preach stand with victims and women everywhere.
