Urge the UK Government to Halt Proposed Changes to Angel Investment Thresholds

The Issue

As a female investor and an active advocate of a community of female and minority investors, I understand first-hand the importance of diversity in funding networks. It is often us, women and minorities, who fund businesses led by women and minorities. However, with less than 3% of angel and venture capital investments being awarded to women in the UK, it's clear that we are far from achieving equal representation.

The proposed changes to raise angel investment thresholds will only exacerbate this issue. These changes will disproportionately affect female angels' ability to access funding networks, hindering progress towards more diverse business landscapes.

The Rose Review (2019) highlighted that over £250bn per year could be added into our economy if businesses led by women and minorities were funded correctly. This potential move by our government threatens this significant economic contribution.

We cannot allow these changes to take place without voicing our concerns about their impact on diversity and inclusion in business within the UK. We must urge our government not just for equality but for equity as well - where everyone has an equal opportunity regardless of their gender or ethnicity.

Please sign this petition today; let's show the UK Government that we value diversity in business and won't stand for policies that hinder progress towards it.
