End the Use of Wool in Clothing — Open the Path to Bamboo -
- Close Cruelty, Open Regeneration: A Petition to End Wool and Embrace Bamboo:
We, the undersigned, call for a compassionate shift in textile sourcing — away from animal exploitation and toward ecological regeneration.
Wool, though natural in origin, is rooted in systemic harm. Sheep endure painful procedures, harsh handling, and confinement. The wool industry contributes to land degradation, methane emissions, and water pollution. It is incompatible with vegan ethics, coalition-safe standards, and trauma-informed design.
We call for the end of wool use in clothing and textiles. In its place, we advocate for responsibly sourced bamboo — a fast-growing, pesticide-free plant that offers softness, breathability, and symbolic renewal. Mechanically processed bamboo (bamboo linen) aligns with vegan, allergy-safe, and neurodivergent standards.
Let us close cruelty and open sanctuaries — in our wardrobes, our rituals, and our supply chains.
