Request for the Revocation of the Nobel Peace Prize Awarded to María Corina Machado

We, the undersigned citizens of the world, activists, scholars, workers, and advocates for peace, justice, and human dignity, submit this formal petition to the Nobel Committee with deep concern and a strong sense of responsibility.

The Nobel Peace Prize was conceived as one of the highest moral recognitions humanity can bestow. It was meant to honor those who dedicate their lives to peace, dialogue, disarmament, cooperation among peoples, and the reduction of suffering caused by war, oppression, and injustice. Over more than a century, the Prize has symbolized ethical consistency, moral courage, and a commitment to values that transcend political opportunism.

For this very reason, the credibility of the Nobel Peace Prize depends not only on who receives it, but also on how recipients behave, whom they legitimize, and what political messages they amplify through their actions.

We are writing to request the revocation of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to María Corina Machado, in light of her public and explicit decision to symbolically gift, dedicate, or associate her Nobel Peace Prize with Donald J. Trump.

This act is not symbolic neutrality. It is a political endorsement.

Donald J. Trump’s public record is widely documented and includes:

Systematic incitement of political and social hatred
Repeated threats to democratic institutions and processes
Open hostility toward international cooperation and multilateral peace efforts
Endorsement or tolerance of political violence
Policies and rhetoric that have intensified global tensions rather than reduced them
Associating the Nobel Peace Prize with such a figure directly contradicts the foundational principles of the Prize itself.

By symbolically transferring, dedicating, or politically aligning the Nobel Peace Prize with Donald Trump, María Corina Machado has emptied the award of its moral meaning and transformed it into a partisan instrument. This action undermines not only the credibility of her own recognition, but also the integrity of the Nobel Peace Prize as an institution.

The Nobel Peace Prize cannot be:

A tool for legitimizing authoritarian tendencies
A vehicle for rehabilitating figures associated with division and violence
A political asset to be redistributed according to ideological convenience
Peace is not performative.
Peace is not transactional.
Peace is not compatible with the glorification of leaders who thrive on conflict, exclusion, and domination.

We believe that honor carries responsibility. When a recipient openly violates the ethical spirit of the award, the Nobel Committee has both the right and the duty to act in defense of its values and historical legacy.

This petition is not an attack on personal opinions or political pluralism. It is a defense of the moral coherence of one of the last global symbols of peace.

For these reasons, we respectfully but firmly request that the Nobel Committee:

Publicly review María Corina Machado’s actions in relation to the Nobel Peace Prize
Acknowledge that the association of the Prize with Donald J. Trump is incompatible with its values

Questo gesto non è neutralità simbolica.

Мы, нижеподписавшиеся — граждане мира, активисты, учёные, трудящиеся и защитники мира, справедливости и человеческого достоинства, — направляем эту официальную петицию в Нобелевский комитет с глубокой обеспокоенностью и сильным чувством ответственности.

Нобелевская премия мира была задумана как одно из высших нравственных признаний, которые человечество может даровать. Она предназначалась для чествования тех, кто посвящает свою жизнь миру, диалогу, разоружению, сотрудничеству между народами и снижению страданий, вызванных войной, угнетением и несправедливостью.
