Urge the NFL to mandate Amy Adams Strunk to sell the Titans
The Issue
🤣🤣🤣
SELL THE TITANS! We've Suffered Enough!
A Petition to Save Tennessee Football (and What's Left of Our Sanity)
As a lifelong Tennessee Titans fan, I have endured more disappointment than a man who buys a boat, only to discover he gets seasick.
For decades, we've stood by this team. We've worn the jerseys, bought the tickets, paid $14 for a hot dog, and convinced ourselves every August that "THIS IS OUR YEAR!"
Spoiler alert: It was not our year.
Under the ownership of Amy Adams Strunk, the Tennessee Titans have perfected something few NFL franchises can accomplish: turning hope into heartbreak with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine. Unfortunately, that's the only well-oiled machine in the entire organization.
We've changed coaches, quarterbacks, general managers, offensive coordinators, and probably the guy who fills the Gatorade coolers. Yet somehow, the results remain remarkably consistent.
At this point, I'm convinced the Titans' rebuilding plan was drawn up by the same people responsible for Tennessee road construction. Nobody knows when it started, nobody knows when it'll end, and every time you think progress is being made, another lane closes.
The Problem Is Bigger Than Football
The Titans have become so difficult to watch that fans are beginning to consider alternative Sunday activities, like cleaning gutters, organizing the garage, or scheduling a root canal.
Our offense has occasionally looked like it was designed by someone who learned football from a pamphlet.
Our defense has spent enough time on the field to qualify for overtime pay.
And our front office? Well, let's just say if making questionable decisions were an Olympic sport, Nashville would need a bigger trophy case.
Meanwhile, ownership continues to assure us that better days are ahead.
We've heard that before.
At this point, "Trust the Process" sounds less like a football strategy and more like something a suspicious financial advisor says right before moving to the Cayman Islands.
What Would Bud Adams Think?
Bud Adams brought professional football to Tennessee. He gave us the Titans, unforgettable moments, and the Music City Miracle.
Today, the biggest miracle in Music City is finding a Titans fan who hasn't threatened to turn off the television by halftime.
Somewhere, Bud is probably looking down, shaking his head, and wondering why we can't find somebody who knows how to build an offensive line.
Our Proposed Solution: Give the Team to the Fans!
We've tried professional executives. We've tried experienced coaches. We've tried highly drafted quarterbacks.
It's time for something radical.
Let's put the fans in charge!!
Think about it. Every Sunday, thousands of Tennessee residents sit in their recliners and correctly identify everything the Titans are doing wrong.
We've got football experts in every sports bar, church parking lot, Waffle House, and backyard across the state.
Surely, somewhere among them is a retired high school football coach who can figure out how to convert a third-and-two.
Our proposed ownership group would consist of passionate Tennessee fans who understand three basic principles:
1. The goal of football is to score more points than the other team.
2. Your quarterback needs more than 1.7 seconds before being introduced to a 300-pound defensive lineman.
3. Rebuilding is supposed to eventually involve some actual building.
We realize these are revolutionary concepts, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Our Demand to the NFL
We respectfully call upon NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league's ownership committee to intervene and require the sale of the Tennessee Titans to a coalition of Tennessee fans.
And by "respectfully," we mean we're trying very hard not to use the language we've been using during the fourth quarter, if we were still watching the game.
We understand the NFL has rules about franchise ownership. But surely there's an emergency provision somewhere for "Fans Have Had Enough and Are Beginning to Root for the Bye Week."
If there isn't, there should be.
We aren't asking for a Super Bowl every year.
We're not even asking for a Super Bowl every decade.
At this point, we'd settle for a winning record, a functioning offensive line, and occasionally feeling confident on third down.
Sign This Petition Before We Lose Another Season!
Tennessee deserves a football team that reflects the pride, determination, and competitive spirit of our great state.
We deserve Sundays filled with excitement instead of disappointment.
We deserve a team that makes opposing coaches nervous instead of making them check whether they can rest their starters.
And most importantly, we deserve to stop saying, "Well, there's always next year," before Halloween.**
So join us. Sign this petition. Tell the NFL that enough is enough.
It's time to return the Tennessee Titans to the people who love them, support them, and have somehow survived watching them.
SELL THE TEAM! SAVE THE TITANS! RESTORE OUR SUNDAYS!
And for the love of everything holy, somebody please block the defensive end.
TITAN UP! (Our blood pressure already has.)
