The Issue

My wife is a Paramedic, working tirelessly across two full-time jobs. Despite my own full-time employment, we often find it challenging to meet our financial obligations. This is not an isolated incident but a widespread issue affecting many EMS personnel nationwide. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel are on the frontlines of healthcare, providing critical pre-hospital care in times of crisis. Yet, their compensation does not reflect the gravity and importance of their work.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), as of May 2020, the median annual wage for EMTs and paramedics was $35,400 - significantly less than other healthcare professionals. This discrepancy in pay leads to high turnover rates and burnout among these essential workers.

We call upon our government to recognize this disparity and take immediate action by raising the base salary for all EMS personnel. These brave individuals risk their lives every day to save ours; they deserve fair compensation that reflects their invaluable contribution to society.

Please sign this petition if you believe in fair wages for our dedicated EMS workers!
