Urge the Girl Scouts of America to Introduce Sugar-Free Cookie Options

Urge the Girl Scouts of America to Introduce Sugar-Free Cookie Options
The Issue
Hello. My name is Tom Belloff and I am a diabetic who loves Girl Scout cookies. Like many others, I find joy in the unique flavors and nostalgic charm they bring. However, as a member of the diabetic community, I face a disadvantage - these beloved cookies do not offer sugar-free alternatives that cater to our dietary needs. Each time we wish to enjoy one (or ten), we must compensate with extra insulin.
Girl Scout cookies are an iconic part of American culture and are loved by millions across the nation. Yet, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 34 million Americans have diabetes [1]. This means that a significant portion of potential consumers is left without suitable options.
We believe it's time for change. We urge Girls Scouts of America to consider introducing sugar-free versions of their popular cookies. This would not only expand their market but also promote inclusivity by catering to those with specific dietary requirements such as diabetes.
I have mentioned this at just about every cookie stand I've seen for literally decades. I've called and emailed the Girl Scouts and have never gotten a response. Obsessed? I'd rather go with passionate. I truly believe this is a great idea.
By signing this petition, you're supporting millions like me who love Girl Scout Cookies but need healthier options that won't compromise our health or require additional medical intervention.
Let's make sure everyone can enjoy these delightful treats without worry or guilt! Please sign this petition urging Girls Scouts of America to provide sugar-free cookie alternatives.
