Colorado’s bill, SB25-003, disguised as legislation to reinforce the state's high-capacity magazine ban, actually introduces the most significant and egregious infringements on the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens in history. No state has gone this far to disarm law-abiding citizens.

According to a report from the Crime Prevention Research Center, there is no direct correlation between stringent gun laws and decreased crime rates. Implementing harsher gun control measures only penalizes law-abiding citizens and jeopardizes our constitutional rights across the country.

Trump, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has prioritized defending the Second Amendment rights of American citizens by ensuring that federal actions and regulations respect the constitutional right to bear arms and eliminating any overreach that infringes on these freedoms. Additionally, the DOJ, through its Civil Rights Division, has the authority to sue states for violating the constitutional rights of their citizens under federal civil rights laws. Given the scope of SB25-003, it seems it would be in the best interest of the DOJ to take on a case that so egregiously violates the rights of American citizens.
