I met with the council and contractor today at Churchill to discuss the way forward. We were blessed with fine weather for the duration of the meeting. I am pleased to say the hump will be scraped and extended sideways to make it more like those outside the co-op. They checked with me whether I could traverse the one at the town hall, and I confirmed that I can. It will be a three-month legal process now until works take place to resolve the issue. I asked about temporary signs for the classic car show to warn of it being a bit higher than 'standard', and they said it would be at the risk of the individual motorist to attempt to drive over it.
In addition, my FOI about the user groups was finally responded to, and the result is that they did not consult the vision charity, but they did consult Unlimited Oxfordshire. I will confirm with this charity how we can review why this was not done, and I have been asked to suggest other user groups that might be appropriate for consultation. (If anyone knows of any, please get in touch.) Read the council's response in full here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/to_enhance_on_a_previous_foi_abo
