We have had a response from the council to the formal complaint. They have agreed in part and have asked me to provide evidence to the contrary that the hump cannot be traversed without damage. I have offered up two photos, and I am visiting the repair centre tomorrow to undertake the repairs to the exhaust heat shield that has been damaged and evaluate the damage to the tailgate electrical box and boot catch. Taking into consideration that the vehicle's suspension cannot be adjusted anymore than it is to give ground clearance, and the 20cm between the ground and the electrical box, I have requested that a reasonable adjustment is made to make this hump similar in design to those in Chipping Norton and Charlbury with the elongated sides that will still deter speed, or if this is not possible to put another chicane in like the other entrances.

I does baffle me how Liz Lefferman can say that 'any other design would be ineffective at discouraging speed' when we use speed humps everywhere else in the county with long ramped sides without saying 'they will never discourage speed'. I have suggested that if it is policy, then why is that policy not offering the same solution to the other village entrances?

I am more hopeful now that the 324 voices that took the time to sign this petition will see their voices heard and acted upon.
