- Spreading the word
INFORM You:
Seattle Parks & Recs is submitting a NEW and MORE COMPREHENSIVE PROPOSAL to the Landmarks Preservation Board! This is HOPEFUL news. You can find the full proposal HERE. Key highlights:
Seattle Parks and Recreation is now proposing to:
Remove ALL “Pedestrian Appurtenances” that are designed to convey human beings vertically and horizontally along the towers, designed for the purposes of maintaining/servicing and operating the former gas works facility.
SPR is also proposing to remove one elevated pipe that extends beyond the existing fence that connects the north and south cracking towers and is a likely means of access to the towers from outside the fence.
This application is different in several respects from the one recently denied by the Landmarks Preservation Board in October.
- First, it goes further than the recent proposal.
- Second, it addresses issues raised by the Landmarks Preservation Board regarding the most recent application.
- Third, it is supported by extensive expert analyses of potential alternatives to selective deconstruction.
ENCOURAGE You:
This proposal will be discussed at the next Landmarks Preservation Board meeting – details HERE.
WHEN: Wed, Jan 21st
TIME: 3.30p

We are hopeful this may be the change needed. We are mindful of the fact there have been precious lives needlessly lost and families broken. We are forever inspired by those families who are leading the charge during these most difficult of times.
THANK YOU for your ongoing support in this matter.
Best –
