Our family, like many others in the Wellington area chose this community for its tranquility and proximity to the unique peacefulness of the Everglades. The calls of wildlife have been our daily backdrop, a sanctuary that we invested in as taxpayers and residents. Now, this peace is under threat from a proposed racetrack development.

This project not only disrupts our serene lifestyle but also poses significant risks to the fragile ecosystem of the Everglades Preserve. The development could introduce harmful chemicals into this sensitive area, endangering both wildlife and residents. Furthermore, it threatens to diminish property values for new residents who sought refuge from noise and clutter.

The Everglades are home to numerous endangered species and serve as a vital water source for South Florida (National Park Service). Its preservation is crucial not just for us but also for future generations who deserve to experience its unique beauty.

We urge you all - fellow residents of Wellington - to join us in calling upon our Board of Commissioners. Let's demand they reevaluate and reject this proposed racetrack development that threatens both our peaceful community life and an irreplaceable natural treasure.
