Petition updateUrge TFL To Reduce Train Noise

Pushing for Real Solutions: Our MP Demands Action from TfL

Dear Supporters,

I wanted to share a progress update regarding our campaign against the severe Jubilee Line noise and vibration affecting Marylebone and Dorset Square.

We recently received a formal response from the Deputy Mayor for Transport, Seb Dance, via our MP, Rachel Blake. While TfL acknowledges the persistent disruption and has scheduled further grinding interventions, temporary rail grinding is not a permanent fix. As many of us know, the deep rumble returns within weeks to months under heavy train traffic.

With nearly 600 local signers behind our campaign, we are making it clear that short-term patches are not enough.

Our Direct Demands to TfL and the Mayor:

In our formal response to Rachel Blake MP’s office, we have asked her to press TfL and the Deputy Mayor on three concrete measures:

  • Immediate Train Speed Restrictions: Implement speed reductions along the Baker Street to St John’s Wood curve to immediately reduce noise impact and slow track wear.
  • Permanent Track-Mounting Upgrades: Install resilient, noise-dampening track fixings (such as Delkor baseplates or tuned mass dampers) rather than relying solely on temporary grinding.
  • Full Maintenance Transparency: Demand itemized track maintenance logs for our section of the line, holding TfL accountable to the Mayor's public pledges on noise transparency.

How You Can Help:

Our collective voice is what forces TfL and local representatives to take this issue seriously. Please take a few seconds to share our petition link with your neighbours, residents' associations, and building committees:

Thank you for your continued support as we keep the pressure on TfL for a long-term engineering solution.

Kind regards,

Bruce Gibson
