It is unconscionable that while Cameroon continues to struggle with poverty and infrastructural deficiencies, our leader spends significant portions of public funds living in opulent hotel suites in Switzerland. These funds, which should be channeled towards improving the lives of ordinary citizens, are instead wasted on maintaining an opulent lifestyle far removed from the realities faced by those he should be serving.

We need to hold our leaders accountable for their actions. By asking the Swiss government to ban President Paul Biya from spending time in their luxury hotels, we send a strong message that such misuse of national resources is unacceptable. Statistics have shown that Cameroon’s GDP per capita is significantly lower than the global average, yet our leadership spends excessively in foreign countries.

This call is not merely a protest against luxury expenditures, but a demand for justice and a push for redirection of resources where they are most needed—in healthcare, education, and nutrition for the Cameroonian people. By stopping this extravagant expenditure, we might just redirect focus to the pressing needs in Cameroon.
