Urge Snapchat to Stop Charging for Memories and End Forced AI

Urge Snapchat to Stop Charging for Memories and End Forced AI
The Issue
Snapchat is a platform where I've gathered precious moments from old friends and significant milestones in our lives. These photos represent my history, and is a personal archive that I should have the right to access freely, without the looming threat of a subscription fee. Recently, Snapchat introduced fees for maintaining these Memories, which feels unjust. Forcing users to pay for their own content, collections of moments stored with trust and intimacy is an affront to personal rights.
Furthermore, Snapchat has been incorporating artificial intelligence features without explicit user consent. Introducing AI tools without an option to opt out violates the foundation of trust between the platform and its community. Users should have ultimate control over how their content and data are utilized, and no one should be coerced into incorporating tools they aren't comfortable with.
A fair approach would involve both free access to personal memories and the ability to opt out of AI features. Free access would reaffirm the users' rights to their content, acknowledging that emotional and historical significance cannot be easily priced. Providing an opt-out for AI features ensures transparency and control, respecting users' preferences regarding technological interfaces.
By valuing user input and providing intellectual control over personal data and content, Snapchat has the opportunity to reinforce its reputation as a user-friendly platform committed to consumer satisfaction and loyalty.
Let’s urge Snapchat to restore this relationship of trust. Sign this petition to demand that Snapchat grant free access to Memories and allow us to opt out of AI features. Let’s take back control over our content and dictate how our digital presence is managed.
