Last night, some community members & petioners attended the school board meeting to listen to the board discuss the plans at Prairie View Elementary School regarding the bathrooms.
Andrew Sogge, Kristina Sogge and I requested to address the board and each were given 3 minutes to speak. I've included the school board agenda for view.
There is no opportunity for discussion between community members and board members at the meetings, so we gave statements and then waited for the PV school agenda item to come up.
When the agenda item came up, Mr Clooten made a statement regarding the bid date and the budget, saying it seems to be on track.
There was NO statement about the plan for the bathrooms and NO discussion among the school board members.
I plan to call the superintendent again to get an update on his plans. He had told my husband and I that he would ask the architect to look into adding sinks to each bathroom stall so that the public sinks could be removed. I had hoped he would provide an update at the meeting or to hear a discussion among the members.
But that didn't happen.
I'll also attempt to reach out to school board members who were cooperative to try to understand when they plan to discuss it as a board.
Note: On Nov 17th, I asked all school board members to either call or meet with me to discuss the plans for the bathrooms. In full disclosure: 3 of them did take the time to discuss it. Thank you to Jason Hodous, Sheri Olson and Cory Meyer for taking the time to listen and discuss.
Two school members have not responded to my request: Emily Foss & LeeAnn Johnston.
The next school board meeting is on December 16th @ noon at the Sports Center meeting room. PLEASE try to get through to school board members before the meeting and plan to be at the meeting.
