Representative Cori Bush, a member of "The Squad," aligned herself with this likeminded progressive Rashida Tlaib, taking up Rashida's banner calling for the support of terrorists amid their attacks on Israeli citizens. That's what calling for the defunding of Israel amid the October 7th attacks amounts to; supporting terrorists amid their war crimes and genocidal ambitions.
Subsequently, Cori has continued to show unconditional support for Tlaibs positions, even when they wandered into hate speech and untruths. The House of Representatives, with support of twenty-two Democrats and most Republicans, has officially rebuked Tlaib, based on her dissemination of blatant lies and hate speech.
This excerpt from the NYT, quoting Representative Brad Schneider of Illinois, highlights the bipartisan support to end Tlaibs regurgitation of antisemitic propaganda:
"... in a vote earlier in the day allowing the resolution to move forward, accused Ms. Tlaib of 'trying to gaslight the world and give cover' to those using the 'river to the sea' slogan. 'I will always defend the right to free speech... Tlaib has the right to say whatever she wants. But it cannot go unanswered.'"
Bush has continued to tow Tlaibs line BUT we are seeing a weakening of her resolve. After being called to task by the Jewish Federation of Saint Louis, she did not recant or apologize, but claimed she did not say the things she was being accused of. She also diverted to a claim that her support for Palestinians has been misconstrued. It's apparent, Bush when faced with the consequences of her words is backtracking. This is only possible because people like you and I have stood up and demanded she do better and put an end to her dangerous antisemitic position and rhetoric.
