For nearly 15 years, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact Right 2 Dream Too has had on our community. This initiative has been a beacon of hope and dignity for thousands of Portlanders in need, providing a safe haven when they had nowhere else to turn. Right 2 Dream Too is not just a sanctuary; it is a vital emergency resource that serves people experiencing houselessness, offering them the support and care they need to regain stability in their lives.

Despite our unwavering commitment to serve our fellow citizens, we face significant financial challenges in maintaining essential services such as Port-o-Potties, garbage disposal, and water supply. These basic amenities are crucial for the health and dignity of our guests and are indispensable for the continuation of our mission.

We call upon the Portland City Council to recognize the valuable service we provide to the community and to support Right 2 Dream Too by covering the costs of these essential services. In doing so, the city will not only help sustain one of the few remaining safe havens for the houseless people but also demonstrate its commitment to addressing the pressing issue of houselessness with compassion and responsibility.

Right 2 Dream Too has proven its effectiveness and need. Our team, exclusively composed of volunteers, works tirelessly to manage this effort, ensuring that every resource is maximized and every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference. However, the funding for basic infrastructure has become too burdensome to bear alone.
