Urge Patrons, Artists and Performers to Boycott Kennedy Center Performances

Urge Patrons, Artists and Performers to Boycott Kennedy Center Performances
The Issue
As an American and an artist, I feel deeply saddened by the recent developments at the Kennedy Center. It is undeniable that this establishment has served as a bastion for the arts since its inauguration, representing a spectrum of diverse, creative, and high-quality performances. Its recent usurpation by the felon president Donald Trump, who has never graced its premises or shown understanding for our cultural investments, has left many of us feeling insulted.
The Kennedy Center, our national cultural center, has powerfully contributed to the promotion and development of performing arts. According to the public records, it hosts approximately 2,000 performances annually, attended by over two million people from around the world. It is not just an epicenter for performances but also a reputable institution for nurturing young talents and inspiring millions.
This administration is the anthesis of the mission to embrace the beauty of our country’s diversity and all it's beautiful artistic expressions. This administration is seeking to prevent a future where every voice is heard, where every story told, and every dream possible. They endeavor to hide the nation's stories and refuse to acknowledge the road our nation and our peoples have traveled on.
However, the recent takeover is not just an invasion of an institution, but a compromise on the artistic integrity that the Center, its artists, and we patrons hold dear. Therefore, we implore all patrons, entertainers and artists to withdraw their attendance and cancel performances at the Kennedy Center in defiance of this takeover.
By doing so, we can collectively express our disapproval and voice out our disappointment to demonstrate the strength of artists, their integrity, and the respect they demand for art and its institutions. Sign our petition now to uphold the cultural sanctity of the Kennedy Center.
