The NYC Department of Transportation will paint crosswalks across Columbia Street and install stop signs at the intersection with President Street this Tuesday!
Fill out this form if you want to be involved in planning or just get updates on the date/time of a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration being planned by the Columbia Street Waterfront community that will take place later this month.
This long-overdue safety improvement would not have been possible without the efforts and advocacy of so many people, including everyone who signed this petition and, most of all, the many longtime residents of the Columbia Street Waterfront community who have been advocating to DOT, elected officials, and our community board for well over a decade for these much-needed safety improvements at this dangerous intersection.
A huge thanks is due to everyone who participated in outreach and planning for the recent meetings with DOT and everyone who attended these meetings, including the Columbia Street Waterfront Association, the Columbia Terraces member groups, and so many other concerned and caring community members.
Thank you again for your support and efforts in making the Columbia Street Waterfront neighborhood safer!
