I am deeply rooted in the soil of Niagara-on-the-Lake, raised here by the lineage of Ruth Taylor, the first woman to grace our town council. This unique town, which has always been my home, is currently under threat due to the council's recent decisions altering our enduring community fabric.

The council's actions contravene the official town plan, which was designed and strategized by hard-working and dedicated professionals to ensure the town's preservation and growth align with the best interests of its residents. It's critically important for the councilors to recognize the significance of these strategic plans and prioritize their execution over taking arbitrary decisions that can potentially hamper the town's future.

The disregard of this plan disrespects not only the experts who created it, but also the townspeople who entrusted this council with their votes and their faith to make the right decisions. To disregard this trust and deviate from the official plan is an act of defiance against the democratic mandate provided to the councilors.
